nine casinos generated 32 percent more slot machine revenue in October than in
the same month last year, according to the state Gaming Control Board.
The casinos collectively brought in $177.1 million in
revenue in October, which translated into about $97.4 million in taxes for the
state. October's revenue is up from $134.2 million in the same period last
year, when only seven casinos were in operation.
When excluding the two casinos that were not operating last
year, revenue was up 6 percent, according to the gaming control board.
The East
Hanover Township,
Dauphin County-based Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse brought in
$20.4 million in slot machine revenue in October, up 25 percent from the same
period last year.
