Lancaster's first Healthier Vending Fair has been scheduled for March 25.

"Although vending machines are a popular channel for convenient snack foods and beverages, they are usually a source of less-than-healthy foods, which are high in calories, fat, sugars, and low in nutritional value," organizers said in a news release.

The fair is designed to allow business owners and operators the chance to sample healthier snack foods, learn how healthier eating can save their companies money and get tips on creating an employee-wellness plan.

The fair will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lancaster General Health conference rooms at Burle Business Park, 1000 New Holland Ave., Lancaster.

LiveWELL Lancaster County and Lighten Up Lancaster County are collaborating on the fair.

LiveWELL Lancaster County is an initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as part of a $233,577 Community Transformation Grant awarded to Lancaster General Health.
