Penn Township has set a hearing for March 4 to review rezoning agriculture land for three large warehouses.

Industrial Development International Inc. or IDI, an Atlanta-based company, wants to build about 2.4 million square feet of warehousing on 163 acres of farmland off Centerville Road in Penn Township. The property is across the street from Key Logistics Park, a large center that houses new Unilever and Office Depot warehouses.

Penn Township will hold the public hearing on the rezoning at 7 p.m. March 4 at the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Co.'s building on Pine Road, township Supervisor Gary Martin said.

The county's planning commission did not recommend rezoning the land when it reviewed the proposal last month. It instead said Penn Township should look at its comprehensive zoning to make changes that better reflect growth.
