Co-working comes to HarrisburgJason Scott
A site, dubbed St@rtup Harrisburg, is planning to launch March 1 at 1519 N. Third St. It has been in the works since last year.
Co-working is a shared working environment that typically attracts work-at-home professionals, independent contractors and people who travel frequently who end up working in relative isolation.
Adam Brackbill, the owner of Harrisburg-based Render Innovations, a Web design and marketing firm, is one of the visionaries behind the capital city endeavor.
Brackbill also was the creator of HopInTheBurg.com, a site to give city businesses and attractions another option to promote their companies.
An open house is slated for 6-9 p.m. this Friday.
Membership is available for full- and part-time users. The part-time rate, or access three days per week, is $175 per month; full-time is $275. A three-month minimum is required.
Prepaid three-month commitments cost $125 and $225 per month, respectively.
This initiative is a good way to maximize facility spaces and give entrepreneurs and freelance creative professionals a low-cost environment in which to thrive.
