The bill from McIlhinney, R-Bucks and Montgomery counties, is the same as a proposal made in the last legislative session, according to a news release.
It would provide new business opportunities for retailers and convenience for customers, the release stated.
The bill comes as Gov. Tom Corbett is holding a news conference this afternoon — along with state House Majority Leader Mike Turzai, R-Allegheny County — on privatizing wine and liquor sales in the state.
A proposal from Turzai was amended down to a wine sales overhaul before it failed to pass the legislature in the 2011-12 session.
