The Association of Pennsylvania State College & University Faculties has been working without a contract for about a year and a half, and reported that no agreement was reached at its latest negotiating session Jan. 16 with PASSHE.

“The session concluded when the Chancellor's team suggested that it will provide APSCUF with a new comprehensive proposal before the next scheduled negotiation session on February 1,” an APSCUF blog post said.

An APSCUF tweet this morning included a photo of protesters gathering and indicated that 500 faculty members were expected to participate.

Key issues of disagreement in the negotiations include distance education, active and retiree health care, curriculum and class size.

In the fall, APSCUF members authorized their negotiators to call a strike if they deem it necessary.
