Evelyn Chatel, general manager and co-owner of Freedom Auto Group in Lower Paxton Township, was honored as Hispanic dealer of the year at the event.

The Urban Wheel Awards is the official multicultural event of the North American International Auto Show.

This year's event celebrated achievements of women in the auto industry.

Chatel was recognized for her industry credentials and involvement in the local community, according to a news release. She is the only female Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram dealer in Central Pennsylvania and the first female Toyota dealer in the Harrisburg area.

A 30-year veteran of the auto industry, Chatel and Freedom Auto Group donate thousands of dollars each year to local causes.

She currently serves on the boards of several regional organizations, including the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania.
