David Singer will retire later this year as CEO of North Carolina-based Snyder's-Lance Inc. and will not stand for re-election as a company director, the snack-food maker said this morning.

The company formed from North Carolina-based Lance Inc. and York County-based Snyder’s of Hanover about two years ago.

Carl Lee Jr., president and chief operating officer of Snyder’s-Lance since December 2010 and former CEO of Snyder’s of Hanover, has been named to succeed Singer as Snyder’s-Lance CEO.

Singer will retire after the company’s annual stockholder meeting in May. He will serve in an advisory capacity to support the leadership transition through February 2014, according to the release.

Snyder’s-Lance manufactures and markets snack foods, including pretzels, sandwich crackers and other snacks, domestically and internationally.

Shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol LNCE.
