Barbara Schmidt has been promoted to the role of president at Hampden Township-based Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA, according to NRT LLC, its New Jersey-based parent company and the nation's largest residential real estate brokerage.

In her new position, Schmidt will oversee the daily sales operations and business development of the company’s 10 real estate offices and more than 300 sales associates and employees serving South Central Pennsylvania.

Schmidt, who has 25 years of real estate sales experience, last served as district sales manager for JGR ERA. She replaces Dick Tucker, who served as president for three years. She began her career in York.

The firm was No. 3 in the area among top residential real estate companies, according to the 2012 Real Trends 500 report.

NRT has about 740 offices and 43,000 sales associates operating in 35 major metropolitan areas.
