One of the country's largest movie theater operators, Regal recently acquired the Great Escape Theatres chain. The publicly traded company has more than 540 theaters throughout 38 states.

The Swatara Township mall's theater has been rebranded as Regal Great Escape Harrisburg Mall Stadium 14.

"Tangible benefits will include the attraction of more first-run movies, creative special events that will entice more theatre-goers and, in turn, shoppers to the mall, and a higher degree of involvement in the local community," Bill Russell, the mall's director, said in a statement.

The mall was purchased last year by St. John Properties and Petrie Ross Ventures, both Maryland-based companies.
