The meeting was the first since members of the Associations of Pennsylvania State College & University Faculties voted to give negotiators power to call a strike if they deem it necessary. APSCUF has said it will not call a strike during this semester.

APSCUF reported presenting PASSHE with a new proposal five days before the meeting that “contained hundreds of thousands of dollars in concessions, withdrew some proposals, and adjusted several more. However, despite the lead time, the Chancellor’s representatives were not prepared with a substantive response or counterproposal.”

Further negotiations are scheduled for Dec. 19 and two dates in January.
