The award comes from the Construction Management Association of America Mid-Atlantic Chapter. The association's regional chapter covers Pennsylvania east of Pittsburgh, Delaware and central and southern New Jersey.

Alexander was part of the team that won for the phase one construction and renovation of two State College Area School District elementary schools. The project consisted of construction of a new 59,956-square-foot Mount Nittany Elementary School, and partial construction and partial renovation of the 64,500-square-foot Ferguson Elementary School.

Philadelphia-based Schrader Group Architecture, which has an office in Harrisburg, was the architect on the projects. Construction began in April 2010 and was completed in August 2011.

Alexander is a subsidiary of Allentown-based Butz Enterprises Inc.
