Oshkosh Corp., the Wisconsin-based heavy truck and equipment manufacturer with a midstate presence, has appointed Wilson R. Jones to be its president and chief operating officer splitting those positions off from its its CEO, the company said today.

Jones, 51, joined Oshkosh in 2005 as vice president and general manager for Oshkosh's Airport Products business, according to the company. He's held several executive positions in various areas of the company since then, most recently as executive vice president and president of the company's Access Equipment segment.

Oshkosh's Access Equipment business includes JLG Inc., a Fulton County-based maker of scissor lifts, telescopic arm access machines and other equipment for maintenance, utility, military and construction industries. JLG has a production facility in Southampton Township, Cumberland County.

Access Equipment and JLG have been a bright spot for Oshkosh over the past several years, leading its other sectors with earnings gains and growing sales.

Charles L. Szews, Oshkosh's CEO and board member, will retain those positions but no longer hold the president title starting Aug. 1 when Jones moves up.

Oshkosh trades its shares on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol OSK.
