The dealership in March relocated to 6643 Carlisle Pike, formerly the location of Sutliff Suzuki, which is in Harrisburg, to be closer to other luxury car brands, he said. That area is home to Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi and Porsche, among others.
The Carlisle Pike in both Hampden and Silver Spring townships is a car shopping hub for Central Pennsylvania with the majority of manufacturers represented by area dealers.
The renovation of the Cadillac Saab site is slated to begin Sept. 1 and take about 90 days, Sutliff said.
The former location at 6462 Carlisle Pike is for sale or lease, Sutliff said.
Earlier this year, Sutliff Auto Group completed a $700,000 remodel of its Volkswagen dealership on Paxton Street in Harrisburg.
In April, Sutliff's Volkswagen dealership posted growth of 174 percent in new car sales compared with April 2011, Sutliff said. The dealership sold 90 new cars last month.
The facility employs more than 30 people. It is poised for some growth in staffing following the renovation and continued uptick in sales activity, Sutliff said.
Sutliff also owns dealerships in State College. Once the Carlisle Pike project wraps up at the end of the year, the focus will shift to updating the look of the State College dealerships, Sutliff said.
