The president and CEO of the The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania will retire from her position at the end of the year, according to a news release.

A search committee of the association's board will embark on a nationwide search for Carolyn F. Scanlan's replacement, the release stated. Scanlan has served as the association's president and CEO since 1995, according to the release.

Scanlan also has served on the boards of entities that include the American Hospital Association, Harsco Corp. and WITF Inc., the release stated.

The association, or HAP, is a statewide membership services organization advocating for nearly 250 care providers, and the patients and communities they serve, according to the release.
