The Patriot-News Co. this week will begin moving departments from Harrisburg to its new West Shore offices, Executive Editor David Newhouse said this morning in an e-mail.

The move to Cumberland County will take place over several weeks, Newhouse said. The editorial department will move out of 812 Market St. next week; and the entire move out of Harrisburg will be completed by early April, he said.

The Patriot-News in December said it would move its offices out of the capital city after more than 150 years. The newspaper officially dates to 1854, but historically dates to 1820, according to its Web site. The daily newspaper will operate out of leased space at 2020 Technology Parkway in Hampden Township. Its offices will neighbor its printing facility.
